Hello, what are you looking for?

How do I reclaim allocated ribbon?

Learn how to reclaim a ribbon that is already allocated to a Marsh 241D Coder.

To use ribbon reclaim features you must be using coder firmware version RC.63 or later and be using version 1.0.10 of the M241D App.

Before reading this article, please familiarise yourself with the process of ribbon allocation (see How do I allocate Ribbon?).

Ribbon Reclaim is the process of taking a ribbon allocated to a specific coder and returning it to your account so that it can be allocated to other coders. It is possible to reclaim allocations from a coder, or alternatively to return all or part of pending ribbon allocations.

The first stage of reclaiming ribbon requires you, using your phone, to log into your account; you will need internet connectivity.

Once logged in, select either ‘Allocate Ribbon’ to view pending allocations or ‘Reclaim Allocations’ to view coders that you can reclaim allocations from.

  • If you have selected ‘Allocate Ribbon’, press and hold ‘Pending’ next to the allocation you wish to return.
  • If you have selected ‘Reclaim Allocation’ press ‘Reclaim’ next to the coder you wish to reclaim allocations from.

If you have a pending allocation for a coder, it will not appear on the ‘Reclaim Allocations’ screen.

  • You will be instructed to connect to the coder associated with the reclaim unless you are already connected to it; you will then be asked for the number of allocations that you wish to reclaim, the maximum quantity of allocations that can be reclaimed (if available) is 24.

If you are still connected to the internet, you will be informed about the number of allocations that were reclaimed. If you do not have internet connectivity by the coder, you will need to connect to the internet to finalise the reclaim process.

Please note, once a reclaim has been started for a coder, it must be completed within 30 minutes, or it will expire, and the process will have to be restarted.
